Traci Bautista Inspired Page
Hey guys! I've been experimenting a bit in my journal today and for a few days now. I've been having quite a bit of fun in it too. Traci Bautista is hosting a free e-course over at the Strathmore Ning site, and I was just experimenting a bit with the week one prompts. This page isn't finished at all yet, but these are just some of the first few layers. I have quite a bit down. I don't really know how to count these layers, since the entire style and work process is way different than what I normally do, but I still had a whole bunch of fun. This is what I normally do when I'm working on my journals. I take these courses (free and paid) and I'll experiment with their styles in my journal. And after I've done that for a few pages (as few as 5 or as many as 20), then I'll find small ways to incorporate their style into my work. An example of this would be Traci Bautista's style. I love it. So much. But I really enjoy my style as well. Since this is the first spread that I've really done a full out Traci style on, I don't really know what details of her work that I'm going to incorporate into mine yet.
But I can list a few of the things that I definitely like about her work. I love the bright colors that she uses. She can combine the colors into the most amazing combinations. Some of the most unexpected things ever. But they work. Something else that I love about her work are all of the amazing patterns that she uses. She will have the most graphic, vibrant doodles. I just love the whole vibe. I'll probably end up adapting the paint doodling. That would probably make a pretty cool layer for my pages. That's what I do. I take the stuff from it that will make cool layers. Because you guys know that I love layers. :)
I just thought that I'd share an extra picture with you guys today. Normally you guys just see my pages, which I hope that you're glad to see. But I thought today I would share with you guys a picture of the same page if you just zoom out a little bit. I just thought that I'd show you my workspace while I'm working on a piece. Some people are perfectly tidy when they work, but I just can't understand that. If I break every three seconds to put something away while I'm in the middle of a page, then I'll totally get out of the groove of my whole page. I like to work very quickly and spontaneously, and I can't easily do that if I have to stop at regular intervals. Well, that's really all that I've got for you guys today, and I'll see you tomorrow!! :) Bye!

100th Post and an Announcement
Hey everybody!! This post is a huge milestone for the blog. As you have probably read in the title, this is my 100th post!! I am so excited to share 100 posts with you over however long it took. I have a goal this year. In 2012. And that is to post every day. I know that I've said that so many times before, and I'll do it too. For several months. But those months will be separated with months where I only post two or three times. Or not at all. I feel bad about that, I really do, but since I can't go back in time and write posts for those days, then there's no use dwelling on the past. Let's talk about the future now, shall we?
I thought that it was quite fitting for my 100th post to be on the first day of the year. January 1st, 2012. And my birthday is tomorrow. I'm going to be 15. But that's beside the point. The point here is to focus on some ideas that I've been having. Though I know in the past I announced a layering art journal course, I have further developed the idea since then, and am now closer than ever to allowing this course to be able to be bought by the public. Here was my idea. Every day in the month of March, I will make a video and post it to a private blog. We will talk in depth about various art journaling techniques, and how to layer them together into a cohesive piece. The price will be $10.00, with an early bird price of $7.00. If you want to donate more, there is a donate button in the sidebar of my blog. That is appreciated, but so is simply buying the course.
So that's what I've got for you today. Be on the look out for the buy button for my course, and quite possibly a free introduction video. I'll keep you posted. Bye!! :)

Online Art Journal Course - Introduction!
Hey everyone!!
I'm so sorry it's been so long since my last post;
I was doing so good, but then I kept putting it off. Ugh.
But I'm doing it now.
So yeah.
What I've got for you guys today is a bit of a surprise;
I'm doing an online art journal course!
That's right all.
I'm hosting it!
It's gonna be really cheap;
Probably only five or ten bucks.
What do you guys think about that?
Basically, it's just going to be a course on layering in your art journals.
That's sort of my thing.
Layering.
So today, I just wanted to sort of do a review of some pages I've done in the past.
A bit of a reminder.
I'll be able to show here some of the different techniques I've used in the past, and give MYSELF a sort of reminder of the possibilities.
So here it goes.
Of course this isn't nearly the amount of stuff I have hanging around here, but I thought it would be enough to hold you guys over til tomorrow.
I'm definitely posting tomorrow since I have the reveal of another color combo challenge.
:)
See you guys tomorrow.
Bye.
